Hotel San Gallo, is a Hotel in Venice, located within a few steps from St. Mark's Square in the real historic centre.  The main Venetian streets, called Calli, which wind all around this area, charm the visitors with their attractive colourful shop windows (Calle dei Fabbri, Procuratie, Mercerie, Frezzeria, Calle Larga XXII Marzo, Rialto). The hotel can be very easily reached, should you travel by car (we offer a discount for parking at the Tronchetto car park), by train or plane, as it is near San Marco pier, no. 15, where all public transport means arrive from Piazzale Roma, the railway station, the Tronchetto car park and the Marco Polo airport.

Train:
From the railway station, get the ferry number 1 or 82, mind the direction, you need to get on the one going to your left, not right! If you get the correct one, the trip only takes 10 minutes, but the other one takes 45. It's not a good idea to walk, because you get lost very easily.

Ferry:
The ferry costs 6.000 a person to Piazza San Marco, a round trip ticket costs L10.000. Remember to stamp the ticket, if you buy a round trip ticket, you only stamp it on your return trip. The ferries run every 5-8 minutes, from 7 a.m to midnight. The easiest way to get to the hotel is to get off at Piazza San Marco and walk from there. Walk all along the church, with the church on your right side. Once under the arches, turn left and when you get to the long line of telephones, take a right, after the small bridge you find the street Calle del Cavalletto, continue straight out, passing in front of the Hotel Cavalletto until Campo San Gallo.

If you need to ask for directions, ask for the ex cinema Olimpia. You can also get off the ferry at Rialto, but it is very complicated to find your way to the hotel from there. Get tourist information before you get there, the tourist information office at the train station Santa Lucia is always full.

Car:
For those arriving in Venice by car, the best place to park is at Tronchetto/Palafenice. There is a ferry from there. Hotel San Gallo has a price agreement (5.000 off) if you show the ticket you get at the hotel. The normal price is Lit. 20-25.000 a night. From the airport there is a ferry directly to Piazza San Marco, it takes about 55 minutes and costs about 17.000 a person. A taxi boat will cost around 150.000.
